I don't know if this is related, but I've been having log in issues as well. I can log in successfully, for example on Southwest.com, but when I go to another page of the site (i.e. "My Account") I have to log in again. And if I go to "Recent Activity" - I have to log in again. So on and so forth. Sometimes I am able to navigate successfully, but as of late I've had to constantly re-log in. --Jessica

@cameronlaufer wrote: Concerned that a flight is going to sell out before I can change/add my companion. the flight is sold out of Wanna Get Away fares. Typically, what % of the seats are sold in these fares? Does this mean it is close to selling out? In addition to all of the excellent advice above: Use points to buy a seat and exchange it later I'm assuming you have booked yourself on the flight and are not waiting? Refundable fare also saves a spot ...I have been in the unfortunate position of adding companion to flights in the 1-36 hour timeframe several trips - I'm not recommending you do this necessarily, but since Southwest changed policy not to overbook flights there will almost always be some action at the 24-hour mark when people get their automatic check-ins and many realize either they forgot they booked and cancel, change to another flight, business meetings are canceled, and even closer to the flight time people are standing by on earlier flights or missing their connections. So most likely you can get on, but it may be stressful. I'd go with the advice to book a points ticket to hold a spot if the "penalty" for not having a seat would be major. It doesn't matter if WGA, A, or BS tickets are available, any of these seats would be superseded by a companion booking if available. Another angle of advice tangential to the discussion - many routes have the WGA removed and only Anytime or BS are available - if Southwest has data that last-minute people are going to take these, no reason to offer WGA fares. So there could be many seats left if Anytime is showing. Now if it is only BS left, then I would estimate fewer than 15 are available, possibly the last few seats.

The webpage that TheMiddleSeat referred to above now says the schedule will update on 3/12 for flights thru the end of October. As you have already seen, the date is subject to change. I suspect that airline is waiting for a bit of clarity about not only the Max situation but also the impact of coronavirus on demand. Other airlines (United and Jet Blue ) are cancelling future flights right now.. No airline wants to cancel flights and anger passengers by sellng tickets on a flight and then cancelling that flight -- even if it ihappens months in advance.

Here are my recommendations, and I'm not a doctor or anything like that, but I do travel a bit. 1. Bring your own food and drinks. But them at the expensive gift shop past security. You don't want to drink water or coffee or tea made on the plane and you don't want to drink from a cup handed to you by a flight attendant holding the brim of the cup who, just before takeoff, has literally ran their hands across the front of all of the overhead bins on the plane. 2. Bring your own hand sanitize. Buy a small travel site bottle and bring it with you in your carry on. Use it before you eat or drink anything while on the plane and after visiting the plane's bathroom. 3. Don't touch anything or put anything in the seat back compartment. 4. Don't use or even touch any airplane blankets or pillows. I'm not for wiping down the seat and try as I don't fancy rubbing my own hands across these dirty surfaces. I don't use the tray and I wear clothing and a light hoodie so that my own skin doesn't come in contact with the seat. Any other suggestions?

I agree with @ksbrg. Wait until an offer has been made before you mention your future commitments. As long as you are reasonable with the time off needed, I’m sure this is a non issue.

When they announced the MAX flights being cancelled in the summer they raised the prices because some were taking advantage of a "blanket waiver" that was put in to place for 3 days. I suspect the price may go down later on like after the next schedule extension. -Blake

@Mooch1 wrote: So why do they still lead newcomers down the path of registering as seniors? Possibly the software didn’t have a corresponding update that the ticketing software received. I don’t recall the timing either, maybe it has to remain a registration option until the last previously purchased fare has been flown.

I have an LG G5 and it's fine. SW's app doesn't work with some "older" operating systems. I'm sure that's what's happened to yours. My time is coming as my phone is only a year younger than yours.

So glad to hear that Chad and Alex went above and beyond on your recent flights. Being that this is primarily a customer to customer forum I recommend sending your kudos to southwest directly through Twitter or Facebook that way they can pass on the kudos to Chad and Alex as well as their supervisors. -Blake

I agreed to fly out in the morning, and not realizing that these two bags can be carry-ons because my suitcase was way under 50 pounds. The 50 pound limit is for checked baggage; if your bags are under 50 pounds, they are free to check. If they are over 50 pounds, you have to pay a fee. To carry on your bags they need to meet certain size requirements, and you also need to make sure you have no liquids above 3.4 oz. It's unclear based on your post if your bags met the size requirements to carry on. --Jessica

We're you just trying to do this last night (2/26/20)? If so I know there was website maintenance going on so that may have affected your ability to create an account. I would give it another try in the middle of the day today and see if the problem is fixed. If you still have issues I would reach out to Southwest on Twitter and hopefully they can help. -Blake

@mtmass1 wrote: I purchased Business Select and boarded A1. When I ordered a drink I showed the FA my Apple wallet boarding pass and it had NO for drink ticket? I routinely fly BS and ALWAYS have YES under drink ticket. This is the first time I have ever encountered this? Any ideas as to why my BS ticket did not come with a drink ticket? That sounds odd that the boarding pass wouldn't have your drink ticket on it when you booked a BS ticket. I would reach out to Southwest directly on Twitter and hopefully they can look in to it. If you still have the mobile boarding pass I would double check that it says Business Select in case it says Anytime instead as there are only 15 BS spots per flight. -Blake

Have you paid for pre check? If not, as Blake said, pre check is granted on some type of random basis that only TSA knows. Sometimes you get it, and sometimes not.

Sorry for the delayed response here. Have you tried reaching out to southwest on Twitter by chance? If not I would reach out there or send an email to Southwest by clicking on the “contact us” link at the bottom of this page. For some reason I feel like I saw something back a few months a go somewhere that said it might have to do with a long username or password. It may sound silly but if your password is long maybe change it to something short like 8 characters and use your rapid rewards number to try and log in on the app and hopefully that will fix the problem. -Blake
