The low fare calendar just shows all the fares within a month so you can search for the lowest fare if you have flexibility, it does not present different prices than if you searched for a specific day, The prices you saw were from a sale that had specific time you had to book by before they went up. You'll need to note the seat you were in - the Max A/C system is fine in general, so if the specific plane is having an issue you can note it.
Did you notify the flight attendant? Sometimes the temperature can be set too high.
Those nozzles above you are only a portion of the A/C air, there should be plenty of ventilation and A/C capacity even if you had the nozzles fully closed.

That it is "all the TSAs fault" seems to be the well rehearsed response by all Southwest phone support, check in personnel and gate agents, for the multiple impacts getting selected for a secondary security screening causes. It's TSA, not Southwest, so you get nothing from them to help rectify the situation of getting a late C group number when you went to all the trouble to checkin and your spouse on the same reservation gets A group. It is true that it is TSA for being selected for the secondary security screening for the one flight with the extra screening, but all the issues on subsequent connecting fights are caused by Southwest's reservation system and boarding process. There is no reason not to get assigned your legitimate place in line on the rest of your connecting flights as the TSA screening has nothing to do with them. Even worse then not being able to board with the rest of your party on the reservation on subsequent flights is losing your TSA Pre Check from paying for Global Entry on the rest of your connecting flights. On international flights you usually need to go through security again after clearing customs. On my recent trip back from Mexico, the rest of my party with TSA Pre Check cleared security in 5 minutes and then waited another 50 minutes for me to finally show up. This is very much Southwest's issue. Other airlines with different reservation systems have none of these issues.
There are things that Southwest could have and should have done on my connecting flight. I clearly should have had an A group number as all other folks on the reservation with me did. All the numbers are gone since the Southwest system would not assign my connecting flight boarding position since it wouldn’t assign the 1 st flight. However, Southwest lets "special circumstance" folks board after the A group, before the B group. When I asked the gate agent in Miami, Monica V., if there was anything I could do to board at least close to the rest of my party, she parroted the party line that is was TSA’s fault and that there was nothing she could do. When I mentioned boarding after the A’s, she got that hostile look like I was just another low life trouble maker trying to cheat my way onto the plane before my turn. She stated that was ONLY for disabled passengers and my issue was not a Southwest problem.
An even better solution is for Southwest to still issue you your boarding position number for your connecting flights and not remove TSA PRE from your connecting flight boarding pass.
This is Southwest's problem, they just don't care as it will cost them money to fix their reservation system.

If it was booked prior to you registering for the promotion it would not count; However if it was previously booked and the current prices worked for you, you can cancel it and rebook it. Just have to book by 3/27 and fly by 5/22 and has to be a revenue flight (booked with $$ and not booked on points or as another persons companion)

When I look at my point history, I see where I’ve earned points for using my credit card and points for flying. I’ve been using my credit card to book the flight so I’m under the assumption I’m getting Companion Pass points for flying and for the credit card spending. I currently have 90k points so I’d rather spend 30k of that than spend credit card money but my priority would be to earn the companion pass first.

If you're looking for Companion Pass-eligible points and you have upcoming hotel stays coming up, Southwest Hotels Points Plus properties are a great source of Rapid Reward points and they do count toward Companion Pass.

As a frequent SW flyer and frequent user of Southwest Hotels, I have not used the Southwest Vacations booking portal as I'm not a fan of its packaged hotel cancellation policies--same reason you stated. The cancellation policy is defined in the SW Vacations Terms of Service.
As an alternative, I have used the Southwest Hotels/Rocket Miles portal extensively (powered through booking.com) as the Rapid Reward bonus deals are great for the Points Plus properties, rooms can be booked regardless if it involved a SW flight, and most properties offer a free cancellation option up to 72 or even 48 hours prior which I have needed to use a couple of times after noticing price drops in the market.
Since Southwest Airlines currently has a generous Promotional Companion Pass offer live for today and tomorrow for new flights, and your business trip to National Harbor falls within the required travel-by date, I would do a fresh price check for the flight portion of the trip.
If the posted airfare is still reasonable, I would completely scrap the entire Southwest Vacations booking and take the hit on the hotel cancellation fee. Per the terms, the SW Vacations airfare portion would be a SW Flight Credit. I would then activate the Promo Companion Pass offer in your Rapid Rewards account by clicking on "Register Now" on the front page of Southwest's website while logged in.
After activating the promo, while logged into your same Rapid Rewards account, book your flight for your business trip directly through Southwest as a new flight...and yes, you can pay for a portion of this flight using the flight credit from your cancelled Southwest Vacations and it will qualify for this promo. The value of the Promo Companion Pass should certainly offset the cost of SW Vacations hotel cancellation fee and any differences in airfare.

I recently read that it could take Southwest two years to gear up for redeye flights for issues related to crew contracts. New pilot and flight attendant contracts were just settled recently. Surely this issue, which was proposed last year already by the company, were addressed in these contracts. What could possibly take two more years? There are already flights carrying over into the following day (DEN-ATL 2100-0155) in the schedule. Common guys; get this done!

I choose to use Early Bird because I do not always have the opportunity to "check in" 24 hours prior to a flight. But yes, Early Bird is no longer an effective means of guaranteeing a proper seat.
The biggest problem is that people will pay for one early bird seat and then "hold" seats for the rest of their party. It's ridiculous.
I now go out of my way to challenge people. If somebody is attempting to hold three seats I will tell them that I am sitting there. That person has paid for a single seat and obviously does not have to move. But I'll be darned if they are going to prevent me from sitting there.
If you want to hold a row of seats then go to the back of the plane. Otherwise, I'll be sitting next to you. The flight attendants know the ruse. They know what's going on and they choose to ignore it and/or be complicent it this ruse. That's unacceptable. Stand your ground I say.
I will not try to break up families or anything like that, but again, you are more than welcome to grab a row in the back of the plane to ensure that you sit together.
I have contacted SWA several times regarding this matter and they consistently fail to remedy the situation. They typically sent out a reply indicating that people enjoy the open seating policy. This response ignores the situation.
I used to really enjoy flying SWA. The employees were friendly. The flights were on time. The experience was good. Things have really taken a 180 degree turn. I am at the point where I am going to cancel my SWA card, burn up all my points, and fly with a different carrier.

Definitely going to be some challenges. Especially on the single-aisle aircraft there isn't really a FA duty that doesn't require frequent verbal communication.
If this is serious the candidate may need to look at airlines with larger aircraft there could be a role, or else other positions at an airline if their goal is to work in aviation.

I'm biased toward DEN because I grew up there, but the new renovations are looking nice!
Anyway, I currently have a mission to fly to or connect through SWA's largest airports, so far my favorites apart from DEN are DAL and BNA. I wasn't a fan of HOU when I went through there this past Christmas, but maybe that's because I was in the international gates area and felt far removed from the happenings of the airport. I have yet to try out AUS, BWI, LAS, FLL, MCI, MCO, OAK, SJC, SMF, STL, TPA - clearly I have a long ways to go. Not to mention, it's been awhile since I've been to both LAX and SAN.
