Vaccine passports for Hawaii: Right now they're available for residents or anyone vaccinated in Hawaii. Soon (~1-2 months hopefully) they should be available for all US residents traveling to the state. By year's end the hope to have the option available for other countries as well.

I'm fairly certain it's the time of actual boarding and departure. The intent is to be able to offer the seat for standard, which floats with time of departure. @Quidam wrote: It was a "Wanna Get Away" fare, but I wasn't expecting a refund. I just wanted to have the price of the tickets converted to travel funds. To be fair, a mask optional flight is completely plausible though not with Southwest. I'm sure if you contact Netjets, they could arrange it. If you are flying internationally, Presidential Flight is the airline for you. I used to see their airport all the time when I went to Abu Dhabi. They would even offer mask free flights on a 787. I was just looking. Presidential Flight used to operate Avro RJ100. Northwest used to operate those. Those were wonderful aircraft.

A good way to check the exact cost on international flights is to just start a reservation but don't book the flight, when you get to that last page the $$'s are all listed.

I know some airlines don't have coverage when you're flying over the Caribbean / Atlantic, due to satellite access I'm guessing. Can anyone tell me what Southwest's wifi coverage is for international / domestic flights that fly over water? A large number of Delta international flights now have satellite wifi. You will need to buy a pass, if you have a monthly subscription for domestic wifi, it will not work for the international flight. If might be expensive

They will be back. Here is a response from Southwest to another user on Twitter: Tech Ops has a plan for repainting Tennessee One and Illinois One, these aircraft will remain in our fleet far into the future. More to come, but for now know that all of Southwest specialty livery, including our state planes, will be back! My guess is sometimes you just need a refresh like when you repaint your house but in this case they will repaint it on a different plane. -Blake

Points(dot) com is a 3rd party company, contracted by Southwest to manage point sales. They are in business to make money. I would suspect that many Rapid Rewards members are now sitting on a larger than normal cache of points, as earnings likely continued over the past year+, but redemptions drastically declined. Resulting in a lot less point purchases being made. That's why we're seeing multiple point sales offers now, including the subscription service. Southwest routinely devalues RR points every 2-3 years. This latest devaluation was actually overdue, likely held back until the pandemic showed signs of ending.

Hmm, sounds fine to me. You were told to follow the FAA regulations, and got annoyed apparently. Then you were called "lovey" when he helped you find your boarding pass. The rest of the fracas was initiated by you and your husband. I'm surprised if he works in the industry, he didn't realize that's common vernacular for male flight attendants, and possibly also gate agents. So, much ado about nothing. You are frankly being uptight and overly sensitive. You'll get no sympathy from most folks here, I suspect. In short, "Relax, Karen".

@italipower wrote: Has anyone started a class action lawsuit for the loss of point value on coerced travel fund transfer to points? The points were greatly diminished in value recently and i have lost a good deal in travel equity due to this. Would someone on this board consider starting a suit? Not sure about coerced exactly, I had the option but was planning on flying to I kept my travel funds. I've only got $79 left of those by now. So although I don't think the idea would work, I'm not in your class anyway if it did go forward. Why would you want someone else to do it? Besides the lawyers who make out like bandits the members of the class will end up getting $10 each or a couple of drink coupons (drinks being served again when this is settled five years from now) but the initiator is the only member of the class that gets a penalty settlement. But personally I think it would be a waste of time.

@SWFlyer007 wrote: @JenT Am I missing something. Once you made the conversion to points, didn't you book your flight then? If so, you didn't lose anything. No, she planned to rebook before 9/22. So she's out 6%, plus or minus whatever difference in fares. That's another gripe I have with SWA... (one of the few, but this point thing is one more). You can't book more than several months out, making annual trip planning difficult. Even though they extended the expiration, you still have to sit on the funds until the flight itinerary is released, and then you're that much closer to them expiring. I fly a lot, so I have to be careful which flights are near expiration if I cancel them. So I took the points deal to "reset" all the expiring funds. They just thanked my patronage by taking a 6% tip from me.

It take about 3 seconds reading that to realize that there will be no exemptions. For instance, the flight must be less than 50% full at the time of departure. My flights in the past month or so have been 90% or more full.

My biggest problem with EVERY OTHER AIRLINE? Having to pay exorbitant fees to put a bag in the baggage hold, then watching idiots fight for bin space with bags that are too big. Want to bring home a $20 bottle of special wine or spirits? Oops, it just cost you $30 to check that bag. That bottle isn't cheap anymore. Tell me again why you care where you sit?

@AndSoItGoes Your info is fine for historical purposes, but does no good predicting current or future flights. Southwest is not like the legacy carriers that only use certain aircraft on certain routes. At the time of writing this, WN8521 on a Max 8 is enroute from DAL to SKF and also WN8505 PAE to PHX, neither of those are on your list. You'll also see that Southwest is no longer using only 6000 series flight numbers for Max 8 flights. The only way to check to see if your flight is on a Max 8 is the info noted above with the noted caveat that aircraft changes can occur and any time. --TheMiddleSeat

I find it hard to believe that an airline's rewards program could cause you "horrendous" personal problems, but I digress... the worst thing that could possibly happen is that your points got stolen. What's worse than that? But even then, I am not sure how that would cause you personal problems. It would just be an incredible inconvenience. --Jessica

@gsking wrote: @Kvainuku wrote: I would like to book a flight for late in the fall while flights are fairly cheap. Although I am confident I should be receiving my companion pass within the next following months, should all continue as planned. My question is, will I be able to edit my fall reservations once I get companion pass to my current flights booked? I will be flying with the person I plan to add onto my companion pass in the fall. I am fairly new to all this. Please advise, thank you! Yes, as was said... book your flight normally, and watch for fare moves. If it goes down, rebook and get the discount. If it goes up, and you're worried it'll sell out... lock the seat with Points. I had to do this once. By the time I swapped it to the companion, people had canceled, so it wasn't an issue. But I did get nervous there for a while. I have also called and had Southwest simultaneously cancel the points and add companion if I thought the flight was full to the point where a self-service swap was too risky. I have also been stalking an open seat at T-24 hours to add companion seat, there is usually some movement around that time when people get their reminders and have forgotten to cancel a flight or whatever other reasons. So far it always worked!

We have saved a lot of years for this vacation, and can't afford to lose the money if rules change. Does anyone have any answers to my questions? thanks There's been no indication from the federal government that proof of vaccine will be required to travel domestically, but you are asking for someone to look in a crystal ball and predict the future. International is a different story and some other countries have indicated vaccines could be required. --TheMiddleSeat
