Actually, the legal standard is if there are a group of people with the same issue, then an attorney can petition the court to certify this as a "class". Everyone has received some type of refund from something in their past whether it was a lawn mower who's horsepower was overstated, fees for handling tolls, bank charges, etc.
I doubt that you will find any legal professional who finds a class action a "silly" notion.
No, but I find your legal opinion silly. I guess you forgot to consult the contract of carriage before making your statement.
Here, let me be of assistance to counsel:
"Class Action Waiver. Both Passenger and Customer agree to waive any right to assert any claim against the Carrier as a representative or member in any class or representative action. "

Southwest can look up the reservation by credit card number. Be sure to add your Rapid Rewards account number to the reservation when you call. If you can wait a few days that would help you avoid the long wait. With the high amount of travel and many problems caused by weather the phone lines are swamped.

Are you asking about Florida? If so, yes to both. However, it rains and then within an hour, it is bright sunny and free of state income tax.
However, for those of you passing through, thanks for paying those taxes on hotels, rental cars and other items so that we don't have to pay any!

First rule is to NEVER, and I repeat NEVER use Southwest Vacations as a travel vendor. I did once and ended up with getting a substantial portion of the cost refunded and some LUV Vouchers to boot.
Book directly with Southwest on flights and arrange your own hotel stays.
I would consider reading the terms of use for Southwest Vacations and follow their guidelines for dispute resolution.

It is funny to see how much anxiety people put themselves through. Rushing to the baggage claim only to wait another 10 minutes for the bags to even ARRIVE to start their ride on the deck.
I usually sit up front so I have been the first person off the plan in about 80% of my flights. But, looking behind me, I see so many people struggling.

I had a very rough flight back in the early 2000s and it bothered me for several years. There was a few years there that I didn't fly. The turbulence was so bad that I nearly hit my head on the roof the the aircraft (commuter plane).
I started sitting at the front of the plane and keeping my seat belt tight. Over time, I got used to the occasional turbulence and now it doesn't bother me.
Know that the severe turbulence that I am describing, and you are seeing on those videos, is probably a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Aircraft disabled from turbulence is also a very, very rare event.
Hope this helps.

Has anyone figured out what is happening with flights to Montego Bay? SWA opened their booking calendar on Thursday for summer flights. There are NO Wanna Get Away fares from any airport serving Montego Bay. There are only Business Select Fares. That has to be an error. I just don't see much business travel going to Jamaica ant month and especially during the summer.
I ) it is impossible for SW to only sell Business select fares as it can only sell a max of 15 of them per flight - boarding spots a1 - a15.
2) I just checked and there are lots of BS, Anytime , WGA+ and, yes, even WGA fares available for sale.

The two dates that matter in this case are July, 28, 2022 (the date credits no longer expire) and the date you bought your ticket (or the date any travel funds used to buy the ticket would have expired).
Comprehending the above, if your ticket related travel funds expired before July, 28, 2022, then the old policy was in place and you had six months from expiration to convert the funds to vouchers.

Brent!
Let me encourage you right now because this post needs encouraging answers.
I was like you years ago when I kept getting turned down by SWA. (3 times by the way) My husband had gotten job with them and I heard how they treat their employees and I honestly LUV how the company is! And honestly it is a family! Because they treat their employees like family!
But I was turned down many times, I have an amazing attitude and I’m definitely an amazing person who love people!! But when I was turned down I honestly looked at it as…it wasn’t my time!
it wasn’t until my husband got promoted to a supervisor and we had to relocate….then a spot opened up in the city we was moving to.
I applied…got an interview…and finally……GOT THE JOB!!!
So Brent..keep applying and don’t lose hope! Keep applying and try to get to know some southwest members at your airport!! It’s sounds crazy but reaching out to people goes a long way! Try to get involved with internships in Dallas if possible!
Just keep going and don’t give up!
what’s for you will be meant for you!
Stay encouraged!!!
LUV Brittnee Hubbard,
A New Denver CSA ❤️💙💛

Let me try to explain this in very simple terms.
Even though 92% of the people "feel" like the fee is worth paying, the net result is that relatively few travelers, in total, select this service.
When you go to the airport, you rarely see anyone in the Pre line and yes, that could be because it is faster, but my observations show that few people use the service.
Checking further, it shows that the number of people who use this service is FAR BELOW what was expected, making it a flop. There are better ways to spend your money and I am not going to pay a fee to avoid a 15 minute or so wait in line. PERIOD.
The rest of you can shell out your money on anything that you choose. This board supports various views as long as they are within the community guidelines. My reference point is factual.
However, pay whatever fee you "feel" is best and I will keep my money in my pocket.

I have a trip coming up in January and I have already cancelled and rebooked the same rental car now six times (free cancellation and no money paid to reserve) and the price for the week went from $497 to $367 now.
Once you use points, I'm not sure if you are getting a good deal. I'm already saving $130 on the rental car by simply watching the prices.
I use points to fly only, not for anything else.

So we are experiencing the ultimate negative of Southwest today. A cancelled flight, not weather related changing a 2 leg cross country flight with A boarding passes into, a 4 leg cross country flight with C boarding passes... seems like this should be on Southwest not on us =(
If you had A-position from being A-list then you can still board at "A61" which should have helped.
Four legs is extreme, you must be starting and ending at some awkward airports, sorry to hear that.

Can they switch dates of 2 reservations if more money by clicking calendar on there part and overriding the plus money feature
Can they do this? Yes if it was the airline's fault in some way they are able to fix mistakes.
They are not likely to go for this if the problem is that you want to change your plans, the normal scenario would be that you have to pay the current price for changes. (No change fee!)

My family and I (including two kiddos ages 13 and 16) will be flying on a Business Select fare next week. My husband and I should have an alcoholic drink voucher available on our tickets, but what about the kids? I assume that their tickets will print with no voucher since they are underage? Or will they still have a voucher printed that they just can't use (and if the latter is the case... will my husband and I be able to use them? 😆)
I would just ask the FA if you want to get two extras since the kids didn't didn't get them. I agree with the others that the kid boarding passes should print without the coupons.
@brittshep wrote:
Additionally... how does the drink voucher work for connecting flights? We have a pretty long layover (5 hrs) in HOU and I'd prefer to use my voucher on the second leg of the flight... how does that work?
I'm pretty sure it's "same day" flights, and you'll get one per boarding pass so assuming with the length of layover at HOU you'll actually get coupons for each flight, and you can save them for the second flight if you prefer.

I am sympathetic to your situation and someone should answer the phone, or disable the phone number. Having a phone number invites a call and from a legal perspective, you reasonably expected someone to service the inbound call.
From a practical perspective, you should protect your data from loss. If the computer crashed, you'd have those items lost as well.
Consider a backup source so you always have a copy. I agree on writing to the CEO of Southwest as I have done a few times and ALWAYS got the issue resolved to my satisfaction.

Although I don't know if the short notice cancellation policy is still in place or not (I haven't flown on SW for 2 years and I Know they did make some changes to policies, but regardless, I generally don't buy the insurance, especially if the trip is cheaper since I tend to book everything -- rental car, flights and hotels -- separately and never as a package deal).
10 minutes prior to scheduled departure still applies.
But TL;DR from your original question: if Southwest is the cause of your delay, they will get you on the next option to your destination without paying for a ticket.
If you'd like to share your airports we can offer any suggestions about alternate routing, likelihood of finding another flight soon, etc.
For instance I took a trip to Nassau recently - there's only one flight a day there. So if you miss that connection, you are going to be a day for the next one.
But MDW to DEN there are many flights a day, chances are good to go same day.
If you are nervous, try to build in a longer layover.

Go into the flight and use the "change" option and it will show you in cash or points how much it will take, plus or minus, to change to a different day or time. Easy.

Personally I book direct though the hotel company 90% of the time a Marriott thanks to status but on occasion I’ll find a really good deal though priceline express deal and usually with about 2min of research I can figure out the hidden hotel and I can Google express deal coupon and usually find 5-15% off to make the deal sweeter then I call and add the rewards number to get the perks not always stay credit but late check out and upgrade usually without issue
I usually earn my SW status on segments so those few SW points don’t bother me I like my suite upgrades more
