This “The Middle Seat” guy just trolls every thread here singing SW’s praises, telling people how dumb they are for voicing any position against the company…he’s obviously on their payroll. Talk about useless information, LOL.
Agreed. You can’t “legitimately” lose a bag. Its negligence: plain and simple. Unfortunately, SW goes beyond not caring, they intentionally do everything they can to get out of paying for losses they’ve caused. They lost my bag too. I went through all the protocol they required and they are still refusing to pay me. SW’s goal is not to make their customers whole after they’ve lost their bag….their intent is to bully you, intimidate you, place unrealistic expectations, and fail to communicate, in the ultimate hope of tiring you out so you’ll go away. So here is some useful information: know that you will have to pursue legal action against SW to get any movement out of them. Their lost baggage claims process is not created to help its consumers—quite the opposite.

You're right; terminology matters, and flight attendants is the preferred term. However, the experience of being asked about smoke fumes can feel accusatory in the moment, even if it's standard procedure. It's a tough situation for anyone to navigate, especially if wrongly associated with something they didn't do. Clear communication and understanding on both sides are crucial in such incidents.

This thread started back in the spring 2023 -- but since then Southwest seems to have realized that selling EBCI to nearly the entire plane dilutes or eliminates its value. Personally I bought it once, learned my lesson and won't purchase it again. The credit card upgraded boarding credits are a much better route to bypassing the normal check-in process, granted they won't probably won't be available on a particularly busy flight.

I hope you manage to get the job or even a better opportunity. It is always frustrating at times to look for a job. The challenge is that it is never a guarantee that one can get the job they are applying since there is other candidates. Do not give up no matter how many regrets come your way. There is always hope to one day get a better opportunity than what you are applied. Keep the hope alive and keep searching. All the best.

Yeah, that's not an accurate comparison. For one, those tickets are likely more, but more importantly this isnt all "new" spending. People are using the CC for things they're already buying, in our case there was no new spending at all.
That's a wise policy, I would only recommend to buy something extra if you are close at the end. It's not a good way to start off.

SW has stopped enforcing its rules a few years ago, and it is no longer pleasurable, nor economically useful to fly Southwest. Where I generally fly out, with a little planning, Delta and American can be equal in price. It is a huge turnoff upon boarding to see the one faker with an entourage preboard.

It's awesome that you're honing your skills with cover letters, even if you don't plan to send it to Southwest. For authenticity, I'd recommend using the name and address of someone in the HR department or a relevant manager you find on the company's website or LinkedIn. Make sure to emphasize your skills and enthusiasm for the role. By the way, excalibur.guide has some great tips to make your cover letter stand out, even if it's just for practice.

As a Southwest customer and shareholder, someone who stays within the size and weight limits of bags, I would prefer that Southwest refuse to load anything other than baggage. All of this slows down the boarding process and adds to the cost of doing business.
Southwest never agreed to be part of your exercise regiment and you can ship your bike though other channels if that is critical to your life. I would be in favor of Southwest stopping all items that are not baggage.
Refer all of those people to a freight shipper.

I've had the same issue for years. And reported it with no fix. I understand it's somewhat low priority but it's still a basic function that should work. This isn't the same as sending the email confirmation you receive. This sends the itinerary without cost information. If you go to Manage Reservation and it up by confirmation number, it will work. It seems to just be when viewing the reservation from your account.

Or since they are charging people to give them an early bird they could pay a decent dev to write code to not make that seat available and instead assign it to the earliest person that bought an early bird and then keep following that algorithm till no early birds are left. Most other airlines do something similar. From a guy that was a dev in an airline
Former dev but not a former Southwest passenger? The seats aren't assigned on Southwest.

If it does not automatically credit, then I have to start wondering whether you had already used your freebies
edit add: or perhaps you inadvertently used a CC other than a Chase Southwest card.

I think such experiences happen with people and it's not always directly the fault of any company. Even tho there are cars with electric window operation, the manual ones are not extinct. And other cab services also have cars with different facilities, maybe you should ask for your requirements while booking.
Southwest does partnerships with brands for monetary and customer benefits. A partnership doesn't define a brands intentions and image completely.

This just happened to me. flying with 89 mom that needs a wheelchair. I checked in at the 24hr mark. got B9. got distracted and checked her in about 45min later. she got A46! She is not A-list. As noted in another reply, somebody who had A46 probly changed or cancelled.
It's all moot because I will accompany mom as a preboard.

Credit Card Signup Bonus: Consider applying for a new credit card that offers a generous signup bonus. Many travel rewards credit cards provide a substantial number of points as a bonus after you meet a minimum spending requirement within a specific timeframe. Ensure you can meet the spending requirement without going into debt.
Online Shopping Portals: Many airline loyalty programs offer online shopping portals where you can earn bonus points for purchases made through their links. Check if Southwest has a shopping portal and use it for your online shopping.
Dining Programs: Some airlines have dining programs that allow you to earn points when you dine at participating restaurants. Sign up for Southwest's dining program if they have one in your area.
Refer-a-Friend: Some credit cards offer referral bonuses when you refer friends or family members who are approved for the card. Check if your credit card has a referral program and refer friends to earn extra points.
Hotel Stays: If you have upcoming hotel stays, make sure you're earning points through the hotel's loyalty program. Some hotels have partnerships with airlines, allowing you to transfer hotel points to airline miles.
Rapid Rewards Shopping: Southwest has a shopping portal called Rapid Rewards Shopping. You can earn bonus points for shopping through this portal. Look for special promotions and offers to maximize your points.

I found a solution that might work for some people.
This was on my Android 12 phone
Somewhere along the line I had switched my DNS setting to use a private, encrypted DNS server.
But of course when first connecting to the inflight WiFi, you don't yet have internet access to access a private DNS server.
I fixed this, for inflight success, by going to Android settings
Connections
More connection settings
Private DNS
Changing it from Private to either Automatic or Off

I believe Southwest used to have 4-5 gates at Minneapolis from my memory of flying in to MSP to see my grandparents, but has now been reduced to 3 gates as Sun Country reworked their model and has dramatically increased their service offerings and the airport pushed/added airlines to the Humphrey terminal (Frontier, JetBlue, Icelandair, Condor, Allegiant). Because of this, I think Southwest has had to decrease their service and limit offerings to their more profitable routes out of MSP. I could be mistaken, but I think that's what happened.
