45% would be the best I have ever seen. If you can buy points for less than 1.5 cents a point it might be worthwhile.
Only if you need to use them right away and you wouldn't have any method of earning them through flights, other travel, shopping, etc.
That's about break-even on the valuations that you can find online for what you can redeem them for, so not horrible but there still might be other ways to earn the points for taking an activity that you were going to do anyway.
But if you need them right now to book something before you could earn them, go ahead.

No airline, including Southwest, sells a ticket involving a connection, where the airline thinks that the passenger and/or the passenger's luggage cannot make the connection.
Could you miss the connection? Sure. Your inbound flight could be sufficiently late that it's not possible to make the connection

I booked an airfare for two, hotel, and a rental car package deal with Southwest Airlines to Texas for the dates of 11/24/2022- 11/26/2022 which I choose the option to pay with a payment plan option Southwest Airlines provided through Uplift as a third party company at the time of purchase. On 11/24/2022, upon arriving at Motel 6 my 14 y/o daughter and I chose to stay at another hotel due to the poor sanitary/living conditions of the motel booked. Although disappointed by the roo, I was able to get a refund receipt from the hotel manager immediately. However, after multiple unsuccessful attempts of calling Southwest Airlines, I have not been able to get anyone from Southwest Airlines to even return my call or respond via email. I have been told multiple times by Uplift, the third party payment plan company, that Southwest Airlines needs to refund the funds from there end. In the mean time, after almost 6 months and repeated attempts to get someone on the phone/email, o one has returned my calls and nothing has been done to rectify this issue. Now my card is at risk of being charged for things I never used. Unhappy Customer
I'm confused on a multitude of levels.
First - did this trip happen in the future? You say you mention November 2022 multiple times - I just checked my calendar, and we are in April 2022. I assume you meant November 2021.
Second - you got a refund "receipt" for the room because you didn't end up staying there. OK.
Third - considering this happened *6 months ago now* you should have been charged ... 6 months ago. You used your airfare and rental car and should have gotten refunded only for your hotel portion by now. However, considering you did not stay at the hotel, I don't know how they would have communicated that back to Southwest Vacations.
Fourth - my dude it's a Motel 6. They aren't that bad - I have stayed at a Motel 6 twice in LA because it was a cheaper hotel close to the Walk of Fame and the Greek Theatre lol but honestly I don't understand the argument that it had "poor sanitary/living conditions." It's a freaking Motel 6. Were you expecting a 5 star experience? If such a hotel is beneath you, you never should have booked it to begin with. I say cut your losses and move on. Motel 6 rates are not expensive, anyway, and if it's been 6 months and you still haven't been refunded your money which I am willing to bet is less than $99/night I doubt you ever will.

I had a similar experience the other day out of Hobby. Plane was nearly full though. The truth is that todays SW is not the SW of 2 years ago. Cynical, poor communication, poor planning, zero customer sympathy or service. So sad! I almost exclusively fly SW (companion pass) and regularly pay more or don't even search other airlines fairs. Why? Because SW does the right thing and doesn't waste peoples time. I guess Ill just go back to flying whoever is cheapest now.
Sorry for the experience. You're not the only one and you not nuts as others on here would have you believe.

I fly out of BDL (Hartford) and PVD (Providence).
PVD has 3 parking garages...2 owned by the airport and one that was owned by the airport but is now privately owned. I park in the private garage (called Red Beam Garage C). It is a good deal cheaper than the others and is still on airport property. There are very few off-site lots at PVD. If I stay overnight the night before I stay at the Holiday Inn Express.
BDL has a parking garage and 4 lots scattered around airport property. The garage is expensive. In winter I park in the garage as things can get brutal around here. In other times of year I park in what's called Express Lot 1. It is next to the terminal and not a long walk. If there is a shuttle waiting I take that, if not I walk. There are a lot of off-site lots at BDL, and I have friends who always use the Parking Spot. For overnight stays I use LaQuinta.

I had booked 6 seats from PVD to MCO in late June. The outbound flight was changed from 12:10 PM to 5:00 AM. Not a good time with 2 young kids. None of the other PVD-MCO flights were acceptable so I looked at other airports in the area and I found inbound and outbound flights from BDL instead. Called customer service and made the change. They were very accommodating AND I got 6,000 RR points back in the process.

I believe what the airlines are doing is increasing fares to make up for some of the lost profits from the past 2 years and also to offset rising fuel costs. Jessica, high food prices, high gas prices , etc will start affecting high air ticket prices -- at least IMO. June's cheapest tickets on the routes I fly are about 250% higher than those tickets are in May. There are no "cheap" tickets.
IMO people are not going to pay those ticket prices in addition to high gas, grocery, etc prices. They won't afford it. Demand will be destroyed. Prices will come down.
Example, when seats for early 2022 were released, fares were pretty outrageous. As 2022 got closer, fares started to go down. Finally, early 2022 fares ended up being about the same as early December fares. The higher fares did not stick.

I have literally never heard of any 3rd party selling Southwest tickets, so I had to look this up for myself. Doesn't look like a very reputable company, BBB gives "Airfare Experts" an F rating: https://www.bbb.org/us/tx/carrollton/profile/travel-agency/airfare-experts-0875-90940154
However, it does look like they specialize more in international flights / trips around the world so how or why they are somehow offering Southwest fares is beyond me. I just tried looking up a few routes from Philadelphia to Vegas, LA, etc and it says "No flights available" at all. Very puzzling.

My Friday 4/1 flight was cancelled, also. I have to apply for the refund? How about the refund should be automatic and immediate. Also, instead of just telling customers they are on their own to book another existing flight - all of which were full or cancelled on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday - how about if Southwest schedules additional flights to accommodate the passengers who are now stuck? It would go very far to keeping your customers satisfied if we received a follow up text or email that says "sorry we cancelled your flight, but we are going to send extra planes on these dates to try and get you to your destination".
The way it is now, I feel like SWA effectively said; "your flight is cancelled you're own your own".
I've been a happy SWA traveller for decades, but this was a very bad experience.
By the way, I got home on Spirit Airlines 24 hours later and I just may consider them before SWA for my next flights.

FYI: Anytime (and Business select) prices for the same day/flight fluctuate much less than Wanna Get Away -- if at all.
Hmmmm...the summer international flights have increased by at least $60 since February for BS, AT, and WGA.
They can be changed, but they don't fluctuate on a daily basis. I'm sure there has been a bump in the recent time period from the winter.

@sandybeachs1981 To each their own, but you said you were told, (however it was, polite, rude, aggressive) in my mind that is irrelevant, I (and I hope the majority of people) would have turned around and taken it back and been on the phone with SWA what had "honest mistake" happened, and about when you ETA would be, no matter what time of the night it was.
Segway into your comment, SWA didn't take into consideration......well maybe you weren't either by not wanting to get the valuables and maybe needed content of the person's bag you mistakenly took. (Meds, extra money, etc.) You then were appalled by being asked to return them. (I'm not going to address at all the demeanor of how anyone addressed each other) Also, maybe that is the protocol, if someone doesn't want to return somebody else property immediately, the police are called.
I can only bet you are honest at heart, but you wanted a more favorable solution to your benefit that didn't happen. I can't say your post has gone for not, I will forever going forward double-take the name on the bag before I pick it up...oh, and which is why I have the most outrageous bag already that there really isn't another like it.

Thanks for your feedback on my post. A couple of comments to clarify:
Yes - i see now that duplicate booking is against SWA rules. I never knew this and in all of my years traveling have never had a reservation cancelled without notice by the airline. On the SWA website - the 45page Contract of Carrier document says they can cancel a duplicate reservation without notice on page 9, section 2.a.2.iii.f.i - so SWA was within their "rights".
I still question - is this the way to treat the customer? If they can write an algorithm to find the duplicate - you would think they could create similar logic to communicate with the customer. I received an email that his reservation had been cancelled at 1:48pm for his 4:55pm flight. He arrived at the airport at 2pm....so he had 12-min "notice". He had a two hour drive in 10" of snow to get to DIA - so that is why he is there 3 hours early....
I will also add that while the 12-17-year old traveler is not a service/program where SWA assumes responsibility - you are not allowed to book these reservations on a mobile device as they require the parent to fill out a form with communication/contact details etc. directly on swa.com. So his reservation was clearly flagged as a minor traveling alone. So - not sure why they force you to go through that step if they aren't going to contact you - but assume it is just a waiver of liability or some other legal detail....
In any case - I have gone out of my way to travel this airline over the years (even forgoing direct flights on competitors) but not sure they are going out of their way for me. Possibly it is just a post-COVID thing with not enough resources, or too much growth, or just an isolated situation.

I appreciate your compassion. It seems to be quite the foreign concept to some people that taking accountability for their mistakes should be a standard of practice. You seem to be the only person who would also be up in arms if thousands of dollars of your personal items were essentially stolen with no regard.
i was nothing but patient and kind and gracious for the first month- but everyone has their tipping point- so to answer someone elseโs question- I absolutely reached out to my attorney (to whom I pay a yearly retainer FYI) because it seems as though being quiet and understanding doesnโt really get the ear of Southwest Airlines.
again- hope this never happens to any of you who made the useless responses- and that your first (post cancer) vacation isnโt obliterated by an airlines negligence and disregard.

There are likely two different types of travel credits offered by Southwest Vacations.
The first is the airline component, which is handled as Jessica said above,
The second is for everything else tied to the trip. SWV could decide on it's own rules about this. IMO it is possible that when SWV told you that you'd be able to use the other traveler's credit , that this is what it was talking about.

Wanted to put it out there - do you think that Newark (EWR) is on Southwest's list of destinations in the future? Without it, they have no destinations serving New Jersey (other than LGA which can be a headache to get to from the Garden State).
You could always tell SW that you'd like to see the service restored by clicking on "contact us" below..
