There are limits to how you can book. Multi-City trips involve only two destinations, not three. International flights often require a clear departure and return ticket. Southwest may wait until you are at the ticket counter to check when there is uncertainty. One-way'ing the non-international portion may work best. ... View more

and what if there is a short turn around time for a disabled person to get to their next flight?  You expect them to be last off the plane and then try to hurry to their next gate?     I think you should have to show your disability parking tag to be able to board in the group. Anyone with a legit disability would be able to get this easily through their Doctor. ... View more

After 4 flights in 2 days which each had over 25  pre-boarders- I'm over it. And breaking news states that SW has increased the maximum charge for earlybird check-in and upgraded boarding ( up to $149!).  That will surely increase the number of pre-boarders.   Also- SW policy regarding saving of seats ( they don't officially have one)  has also been put out there on social media and now abused. Between the 2 policies- the abuse has gotten out of control.   I used to like no assigned seating  - but now I wish that Southwest had pre-assigned seating.  ... View more

Southwest long ago figured out that open seating is the fastest way to get everyone on a plane. Fastest boarding means quicker plane turns - which allows more flights/gate/day and more flights/plane/day -- which in turns mean more profit and potential for lower fares for everyone. ... View more

We see people gaming most any system put in place. This is just one such example. I have been in line with a veteran of war that could easily legitimately qualify for pre board but he would not have it. He was pretty outraged at the people he saw clearly gaming the policy. They didn't say Vietnam vet anywhere just 100% disabled veteran. I'm also a 100% disabled veteran myself. Have been since 2006 when I came home from Iraq and I'm now 40. I have very often struggled to hide my limp and sometimes you'd never notice anything. I also look perfectly capable, but if I'm in shorts you can see the difference and if I don't have a seat in front with extra leg room I won't be able to move for days. It makes sense that qualify for 2024 companion pass because you can still qualify for 2024 during 2024.  If you do not currently have a CP then these count toward earning it for the remainder of the year.   From what I am finding is these types of promotions do not give points until sometime after the end of the promotion period.  I received points for this specific one just this week so they seem to be taking close to 8 weeks to process the points. ... Likely a two-night search in your area may get you what you need but I would book it for this weekend if you can.   Please note that you'll need to go to the actual hotel address on check-in day and go through the check-in process but you may be able leave the hotel from there. Before booking, I would confirm with the hotel directly to see if you can check out by simply leaving the key cards in the room. If they permit it, you can be done with the hotel after checking in, going to the room and leaving the keys there...or of course, you and your folks can enjoy the amenities there and the spend the nights there if able.   ...
