Please file a complaint here vs the BBB. This report allows consumers and air travel companies to compare the complaint records of individual airlines and tour operators. The data in this report also serve as a basis for rulemaking, legislation and research. Consumer information for air travelers, including the Air Travel Consumer Report and our pamphlet Fly-Rights, a Consumer's Guide to Air Travel, can be found on our website, www.transportation.gov/airconsumer.

Someone had a similar question earlier, and I'll share with you similar feelings that I shared with them: Southwest is adding new routes all while also trying to ensure it can keep it's planes full enough to have a healthy cash flow. That means big adjustments in schedules. My home airport is in Nashville, and while we have a ton of non-stops, we have fewer numbers of non-stops on any given day due to demand. These changes are common across the industry, but you may feel them more with SW as it uses less of a hub and spoke model; traditionally, they don't operate mainly through hubs and offer many direct/non-stop options. One could guess that as travel picks back up, you might fine direct options from ATL > DTW. But it is hard to know. ATL is a big market for SW, so there are lots of direct flights to many places currently. Also, ATL and DTW are big Delta markets, which might play into competition/profitability for SW. Since this is a customer community, feel free to reach out to SW directly to share your concerns.

My practice for one stop no plane changes is to expect NOT to get off. I hop up and use the restroom as soon as the local passengers are off the plane and try to be back in my seat before they start boarding for the next service.

Agree with @dfwskier -- I have never seen it take as long as SW actually says it does to receive the CP once you qualify. But I don't expect calling will do anything to expedite the process.

Exactly!! Just because you have a cold doesn’t mean you should be kicked off the plane. That’s ridiculous!! If masks work and everyone has to wear them then embrace it. The common cold, flu , allergies and mucus still exist . Like they always have. If ya have a serious fear of getting COVID-19 then why aren’t you in quarantine? Just saying

@kehlfamily I imagine that is frustrating. Lines seem to be all too common right now in air travel with travel picking back up. My suggestion would be to provide your feedback directly to SW since this is a customer community. Contact Customer Relations

Unfortunately, all we have for now is "Service will resume at a later date." You can follow all the COVID adjustments for scheduling here. Since this is a customer community, you can direct your inquiry directly to SW via one of the Contact Us methods below, but I am afraid you might not get an additional info until there is a public announcement. Good luck.

You should contact Customer Relations. If there was a waiver in place that allowed you to change your flight to a time that was post-expiration of the original funds, that is a valid change. Did you happen to save a screenshot of the confirmation page? If so that would help you explain the situation. I'm not sure what they'll be able to do now... but they may offer some small accommodation, if they're able to fully understand what happened.. Good luck. Contact Customer Relations

Short answer: yes. Even if you are booked together, you can full travel "alone." A couple of notes: If you are truly booked on the same confirmation number, one of you can check in online 24 hours out, and you guys should get sequential boarding positions. From there, you can choose to capture your mobile boarding passes, or you can choose to check in again to check bags and get printed boarding passes at the airport (together or separately). Enjoy your trip! I understand the art of balancing airport logistics and conference calls! 🙂

You can call ahead to have the baby added to your ticket, but you'll still need to show the birth certificate when you arrive anyway. It won't really be much of a time saver.

Most of the time, if I need to make a change to a reservation including companion, I call or use the app chat or social media direct message. Those teams can change things much more easily!

Sounds like you're worried about having a clean plane? Well, considering neither middle seats being full nor contact with surfaces have been attributed to spreading Covid, it seems you're being overly paranoid. The facts are you'll be low risk regardless. If you're looking to assuage your fears of flying, your best bet is to stay home. There's really nothing to be gained by nitpicking one flight over another.

As long as the flight are booked on the same reservation, you will have early bird boarding on both flights -- your first and your connecting in CA. Happy travels.

@Megrbrad Booking the "round trip" Memphis to Palm Beach, you can only choose from what is available. 40 mins is a tight connection, BUT there are two things to note about ATL: 1) all the gates are close together in the same concourse, and 2) I find that we always arrive in ATL early. "Always" meaning most of the time, of course. ATL is a large airport, and my personal observation is that there is way more time build into the flight time than necessary to account for that. This is especially true earlier in the day. If you do do "multi-city" ticketing, you stand to disrupt the Early Bird you already purchased, and you also have to consider how your bags may or may not be transferred if you check them. You would have to check with the full service desk at check in for that. If you sit toward the front of the plane and move quickly, you should be fine. Just note that you may not be as likely to sit together on the connecting flight. Good luck!

They won’t for customer service, the premise of the community here is customer-to-customer support. Telling you that they would pull your bag, and then not pulling it, that’s definitely worth discussing. In the future don’t put any medicine or urgently needed things in the checked bag, even under regular circumstances. I hope things settle down and your Family member is recovering.

Hi, @yenowoho. The short answer to all of that is yes. You can! You can check her in on southwest.com or via the mobile site also. You will need her confirmation number and her name as it appears on the reservation. Also, check in exactly 24 hours out, regardless of time zone. So you will need to do it at your local time of 12:30pm. She can "check in" again when she is available to get her boarding pass, or you can save it and send it to her via mobile. Or, she can just get a printed boarding pass as you mentioned. It will be a breeze. Hope she has a safe trip, and thanks for helping her out!

@Will0329 wrote: to their precovid schedule or is this permanent?? Many of the legacy carriers didn't cut their flights as much as southwest has. Where will southwest get the planes from to go back to their pre covid schedule?? It seems that southwest is using many of their unused planes to fly to new cities. First off, nothing the airlines do is permanent. The answer to your question is: as soon as there is enough traffic to profitably fill the planes. As far as where will Southwest get planes, the airline still has planes in storage that were placed there at the height of the crisis last year. The airline is also scheduled to receive 35 new planes this year.

@kobiezma Keep looking. Remember you can always rebook in the future if they do make it back down to the original rate you saw. A best practice -- if you are booking on points and you find a great rate, just book it! You can always cancel later. Have fun!

One more thought -- you mentioned BMI in your post. Do you mean BWI? Baltimore is a significant SW hub, and it is likely that there could have been many A Listers on the flight for that reason as well.
