When you get your monthly statement, does the statement show that points are going to two RR accounts?
Since Southwest adds points to accounts at Chase's direction, the only way to fix this is to contact Chase.
Just to clarify @dmspen - the credit card points should go into only one of your rapid rewards accounts, and then you each should have separate RR accounts that will show your own points from flights (hotels, etc.)
So for instance your wife may get all the CC points and then see her own flight points, and then you may login and see only your own flight points. (or vice versa)
See if that's the case. You shouldn't both see the CC points from the same credit card on your individual RR accounts.

Hey would you say this still applies to the recent 2024 promo? I spoke to a worker on the phone and she said any change will void it. She also said she has seen it happen before.

skhagger,
I just had your same exact experience with transferring points to a friend. They charged me $450 😂 for transferring 45000 points to a friend. Let me know if you would like to connect outside of a southwest community. There are several people like us that have posted here and who knows how many have not even posted. Although I am not retired, I don't have any extra money as either.

Paula,
I think we have a case...I interpreted this process exactly as you did and I found others. Would you like to connect outside of a southwest community and see what we can do?

Airlines need to ensure that routes are economically viable. Factors such as operating costs, fuel prices, and competition can influence the profitability of a route. Office ally If the route is not expected to generate sufficient revenue, airlines may opt not to offer nonstop flights.

I'm glad to hear that you have a great therapy dog.
Unless the dog provides aservice to you personally, it would not qualify as a service dog.If it does, perhaps you should try to get it a service dog designation..

To clarify, you the passenger make the decision about whether or not you need to pre board.
No airline employee may refuse your request.
So if you tell the gate agent you need to pre board, you will be allowed to pre board.

Interesting I see what you are saying, the code is taking 25% off of a much higher point fee then if you just look at it without a code; 25% off of 16K pts vs without fee is 12K points. That does seem a bit suspect.

It's great to hear that you have found sitting near the overwing exit, preferably by the engine, to be your favorite place to sit on Southwest planes based on your past experiences. Many passengers prefer these seats for various reasons, including feeling safer, having more legroom, and enjoying the view.
Sitting near the overwing exit can indeed provide a sense of security for some passengers. These seats are often closer to the aircraft's wings, which are typically considered to be one of the safest parts of the plane in the event of an emergency landing or evacuation. Additionally, being near the engine can provide a reassuring feeling of being close to the aircraft's power source.
Furthermore, seats near the overwing exit often offer extra legroom, which can contribute to a more comfortable flying experience, especially on longer flights. This additional space can be particularly beneficial for passengers who value comfort and mobility during their journey.
Overall, it's great that you have found a preferred seating option that makes you feel safe and comfortable while flying with Southwest Airlines. Remember to always follow the airline's safety instructions and guidelines, especially when seated near emergency exits, to ensure a safe and enjoyable flight experience.

but if you are only paying the balance due you are paying an exhorbitant interest rate - far more than the points are worth.
If you carry a balance, you might be better off with a lower interest credit card.

You certainly have the right to fly with your service dog, and by your description of your situation you do need a service dog.
I hope you find a way to control your seizures, but if not you do have your 130 pound friend there to help out. A very good friend indeed.

Wow! Thanks for putting it so simply and beautifully. 12 percent back now sounds like a heck of a lot! 1.5 percent cash, not so much.
The cash you can use for anything, which is good. But if you are flying fairly often then the benefit in points value could be more.
There are other ways to redeem points which may not yield the $0.015 estimated value, flights are the best option for keeping the value high.

A lifetime pass on WN doesn't make sense IMO. It is after all, a LCC that is not aligned with any major airline alliances, it doesn't even have interline agreements with any other airline and it uses its own proprietary reservation system than using the major ones like Amadeus Altea or SITA.
You're right that had you gone with AS, your miles and status would've mattered long term as they're now part of the oneworld alliance. Your lifetime status on AS would've allowed you to use your miles to book flights on JAL, Cathay Pacific, British Airways, etc. and it would've granted you lifetime lounge access to all these airlines as you traveled around the world in your retirement.
But if WN had lifetime status and points, it wouldn't make much difference. At best you can go to Aruba, only on WN, no lounges, no other airline partners, etc. And I don't see WN making any upgrades to their system, starting interline agreements or even joining any of the airline alliances. Maybe they can start their own LCC alliance and team up with RyanAir or AirAsia, but that's another major hassle in itself and highly unlikely in itself also.

Why is the question.
Shortage of planes is the answer. Boeing is coming up well short on plane deliveries while plane retirements continue. So the airline is forced to make route decisions based on where it can fly to get the most revenue.
Hopefukly if Boeing steps up deliveries in 2025 (it is not clear that it will do so ), then maybe the route will return.

So a couple of weeks ago I booked my mom and I’s flight from St. Louis, MO to West Palm Beach, FL with a layover in ATL. Well a couple of days ago our whole itinerary got changed to a layover in Baltimore, MD. My mom and I don’t want to fly there because it would be silly to do so. I was wanting to change our arrival airport to Orlando and I for some reason can’t and it only gives me the options of West Palm, Fort Lauderdale, and Miami. I don’t want to fly into the other two and I kinda just want to get a non stop flight to Orlando but I can’t without paying for it. Would be possible to change to Orlando on the website rather than the app? Thank you in advance!
I don't think Southwest considers Orlando as equivalent (they use the word "co-terminal" with the Miami area airports.
If there was a major weather disruption they may allow people to swap between these on an emergency basis but for a basic schedule change like this I think they expect you go continue with PBI, FLL, or MIA.
If you decide to call in you can give it a try, and who knows if you can find a fare that's equivalent you can change it yourself with no change fee, only have to pay the difference in fare.
BWI is quite a bit bigger of a Southwest operation than ATL so I'm curious if you are worried about the distance in the terminal? It's a pretty good airport for connections as there is a high frequency of service in case of delays and O'Brycki's is one of my favorite airport places to eat.
BNA is also a good connection option if that's a choice, plenty of food and beverage outlets, music, and on a more direct line of travel for you.
Maybe MSY not as frequent for service but keeps the path straighter.

Formerly a Southwest regular, I took my first Southwest trip today since I got caught in the Dec 2022 meltdown.
I had a online Southwest transfer in San Diego. I arrived at Southwest Gate 5 and departed from Southwest Gate 13. I couldn't believe that in the year 2024 you have to go to security again to complete a Southwest online transfer.
To add to the pain, the Southwest monitors only show the flights for each gate "hub" So if you arrive at Southwest gates 5-8 and are departing are are departing from Southwest gates gates 13-18, your connecting flight will not even show on the monitor. You're totally on your own to figure out what's going on.
Third world operations in San Diego.
Greetings!
SAN is my primary home airport (ONT is my 'convenience' origin).
I would submit and guarantee that both Southwest and SAN airport staff are very well aware of the inconvenience of Terminal 1's current layout that not only impacts connections but also gate changes.
Last September, I experienced this too--and it involved lucky Gate 13: https://community.southwest.com/t5/Inflight-Experience/Sept-23-Photo-Trip-Report-SAN-LAS-with-2x-TSA-Screening/m-p/163651
Regarding your connecting departure at Gate 13, you arrived at Gate 5 which is on the eastern concourse of Terminal 1. Being a frequent SAN flyer, I've noticed that the Customer Service desks and monitors at that concourse all use the older model counters and tv's. E.g. from Gate 7:
These TV's rotate between a full view of the next scheduled departure (as pictured) and departures/status of flights from nearby gates that exclude flights that take place on the Gate 11-18 western concourse to your point. However, there's two sets of vertical status monitors (pictured below) in each concourse that show all the gates:
This would be your go-to place to check for flight status. If for some reason your flight was still missing on the monitors, the Southwest App or website is the next best place to check:
https://www.southwest.com/air/flight-status/
Regarding the airport getting all this straightened out...Not sure if you saw the construction activity either from the terminal windows or from the plane but SAN will be replacing Terminal 1 with the New T1 which on schedule to open sometime next year.
When that happens, all of Southwest's gates will be linked together airside and we can bid good-riddance of having to go through a TSA checkpoint twice for both SW connections and/or gate changes.

The reason tfor that suggestion is that SW can do the cancel and add of your companion in real time -- minimizing the risk that someone else could grab the last seat on the plane - thus leaving your companion without a seat.
Other than that, you can cancel and then book your companion yourself.
Agreed - try to "buy" tickets for the flight now and you can see if it is sold out or nearly sold out (or blocked for any other unknown reason).
You may be able to self service on it by canceling only your husband's ticket, or if it won't let you make that change online for whatever reason then call in and the phone agent can make the swap.

Southwest changed my departing flight and it's now an hour and ten minutes later. I have a round trip flight and may have found a better flight on a different airline. If I were to cancel the departing flight, but keep the returning is that possible and does it change the cost?
Yes you can cancel the outbound flight and the cost of the return would not change. I'm not sure where the break point is delay wise between being able to get a refund vs a travel credit
.
Also, is it possible that Southwest will change the flight back to the original time?
Not likely, but anything is possible.
