Hi all, I am flying home for Christmas and have some Christmas Presents that I need to figure out where to put so all help is appreciated!
I have:
-3 small wooden signs
-small koozies
-bracelets / ring
Thank You!
These sound like checked items to mee unless the bracelets/ring are valuable they can probably be carry on, especially if they are small you won't notice them in addition to your other items in the carry on.
Signs and koozies seems like checking would be easier.

I totally agree with you. For my 5:30 AM flights, it is totally worth it. Plus, I just found out that that I get two or three free EBs with my credit card. Plus, on vacation, I don't have to worry about checking in 24 hrs prior. However, each to their own.

First, if you did not know that you are allowed only two carry on items, you must be new to flying. Every airline that I have ever flown restricts you from bringing your entire kitchen, garage and workshop on the plane. It slows down the boarding process and is a nuisance.
In order to make your claim, you need to have proof that it was in the bag in the first place. It would be easy for anyone to claim that someone or somehow their Rolex watch is now suddenly missing. Myself, I do not believe any of these stories about items stolen from luggage. How in the world would anyone know that an item of value is in your bag? The luggage crew hardly has the time to inspect each piece of luggage and their work is on video.
Your loss is only what you claim it is. There is no proof.

Hello!
I haven't used SNA for a long time but as all the other users posted, A-List does not grant access to the PreCheck Lane.
I checked around the internet for SNA pics and found that some showed the Priority Express Lane labeled as "1st Class, Premium" which I think would be your lane. Do you recall seeing such a lane? If so, I believe that would be the Priority Express Lane that any A-Listers as well as Business Select and Anytime passengers can use regardless of PreCheck status. I would doublecheck with a SW Customer Service Agent but this appears to be your lane if you use SNA going forward.
By the way, definitely consider getting PreCheck if you're eligible or even Global Entry if you're thinking of doing any international travel which would include land border crossings to Mexico or Canada.

In today's age, there is absolutely no reason to work through a "travel agency" who has no more information or ability to book an airline ticket than do you. In LESS TIME THAN YOU SPENT WITH THE TRAVEL AGENCY, you could have booked your flights on Southwest, paid for them, earned Rapid Rewards points and had all of this done.
To me, this is a 1980s view of travel where you contacted someone to set it all up and get through all of the secret handshakes, etc.
I see that you were an author in your own demise.

Business travelers could sign up for your program, and during their flights, they could engage in various money-making activities. For example, they could participate in surveys, watch targeted advertisements, or even perform quick freelance tasks that match their skills and expertise. Imagine a scenario where a business traveler is waiting for their connecting flight, and during this downtime, they complete a few surveys or offer their expertise for a quick consultation. This not only allows them to make some extra money but also makes the most of their travel time. To boost the appeal of your service, consider incorporating some of the quick cash tips I found on how to make quick cash in a day. These insights could help travelers maximize their earnings and make your service even more enticing.

This “The Middle Seat” guy just trolls every thread here singing SW’s praises, telling people how dumb they are for voicing any position against the company…he’s obviously on their payroll. Talk about useless information, LOL.
Agreed. You can’t “legitimately” lose a bag. Its negligence: plain and simple. Unfortunately, SW goes beyond not caring, they intentionally do everything they can to get out of paying for losses they’ve caused. They lost my bag too. I went through all the protocol they required and they are still refusing to pay me. SW’s goal is not to make their customers whole after they’ve lost their bag….their intent is to bully you, intimidate you, place unrealistic expectations, and fail to communicate, in the ultimate hope of tiring you out so you’ll go away. So here is some useful information: know that you will have to pursue legal action against SW to get any movement out of them. Their lost baggage claims process is not created to help its consumers—quite the opposite.

You're right; terminology matters, and flight attendants is the preferred term. However, the experience of being asked about smoke fumes can feel accusatory in the moment, even if it's standard procedure. It's a tough situation for anyone to navigate, especially if wrongly associated with something they didn't do. Clear communication and understanding on both sides are crucial in such incidents.

I've heard similar stories about airlines misplacing items. It's a bummer when you get conflicting information from customer service. Hopefully, your AirPods will turn up soon in Chicago. In the meantime, maybe keep checking with both Southwest and Midway International Airport's lost and found just to cover all bases.

This thread started back in the spring 2023 -- but since then Southwest seems to have realized that selling EBCI to nearly the entire plane dilutes or eliminates its value. Personally I bought it once, learned my lesson and won't purchase it again. The credit card upgraded boarding credits are a much better route to bypassing the normal check-in process, granted they won't probably won't be available on a particularly busy flight.

This is another example of someone not doing their job. If you are a mortgage broker, you should know better.
Just like in our neighborhood which is managed through an HOA. We do not allow "for sale" or "for rent" signs, PERIOD!
I submitted a proposal that when we see these, we remove them and bill the homeowner a $1,000 removal fee and let them get reimbursed by the realtor who should have known better.

I am totally against dragging items on the plane that could be checked. All we are doing is adding to the cost of air travel because it takes longer and longer to board the plane and get underway.
The fight for overhead bin space has hit epic levels. If you carry a laptop or small carry on then that's fine. Luggage and oversized items are ruining everyone's air travel experience.
I've been watching Southwest gate agents call out the oversized and over count items recently. I am glad and yes, it is about time!
It is always something. Yesterday it was a mountain bike, today it is a Santa suit, tomorrow a riding lawn mower and the day after, your daddy's toolbox.

It seems like there might be a misunderstanding or miscommunication in the process. If you have concerns about the offer or the application process, reaching out to the specific customer service for the credit card or the airline might provide more accurate and detailed information.

We just went through this on another airline when visiting Anguilla. No matter what the limit, someone always wants to push the envelope. This particular character got an oversized bag on board and shoved it into the overhead bin to the point that the fiberglass framing was bowed.
The door wouldn't close. They advised him to reduce the size of the bag or have it checked.
The best solution would have been to toss the bag off the plane and advise the passenger to pick it up off the tarmac on his next trip.
I have proposed that all baggage be screened by TSA for size and rejected at the TSA screening and send the person back to have it checked, then re-enter TSA screening. With rules like that no one will push the envelope.
50" for carry-ons and the dimensions are not meant to be tradeable so if you don't use all of the 24" you don't get to claim that extra on the width.

To answer your other question you do not need to buy the Early Bird if you plan to pre-board, there's no additive benefit.

SW has stopped enforcing its rules a few years ago, and it is no longer pleasurable, nor economically useful to fly Southwest. Where I generally fly out, with a little planning, Delta and American can be equal in price. It is a huge turnoff upon boarding to see the one faker with an entourage preboard.
