Doesn't sound fun, but I'll note that due to COVID and MAX-8 issues, the airline had to reassess routes. Be sure to share feedback with the team (social media, contact us below) so that they know of your interest for the route and hopefully bring it back soon! 🙂

That is a scam, and thanks for raising it. I'll try and escalate this to the airline so they see it and can help if anyone has any questions. Safe travels!

I do apologize for this, as it sounds super not fun and frustrating. Because this is a passenger-to-passenger community, I'd suggest raising it to the airline via social media (Twitter, Facebook, etc.) I hope this helps and they can take your feedback and fix this going forward. Safe travels! -Zev

I can totally relate, as SWA pulling out of EWR wasn't easy for me. But... it's for the best (for now) and hopefully the route will return or a new better one will open. Safe travels!

As @chgoflyer mentioned, Chase is the deciding body here, not SWA. You'll want to check with them what/where awards points, etc. Hope this info helps.

I too have not heard of any changes, but you may want to reach out to SWA directly via DM on social media to confirm.

@clarined wrote: In conclusion: you can extend a LUV Voucher to 2022 by purchasing a flight and canceling, thus receiving travel funds. The extension won't happen instantly (may take up to 5 business days). Note that you won't be able to use travel funds to purchase for another person as with LUV Vouchers. My experience is that the revised travel fund date does not appear on the date of cancelation, but that it does the next day. I've seen that twice. I suppose the process is handled via batch processing as opposed to real time processing.

Important to note that these flights can be cancelled or changed based on how the Mexican government decides to allow travel across the USA and their borders.

@ZevSupport wrote: Sorry to hear of this. Unfortunately, the flight vouchers can't be shared. However, as things hopefully turn up, I hope you'll find a new place to travel, and soon! If you really can't work with the voucher, DM the airline over social media and they should be able to assist with other options. Just to clarify, as the terms can be confusing. Travel Funds and Vouchers are two different things. Travel Funds are what you receive from a customer-cancelled flight. These are valid for travel for up to one year* from the original date of purchase, usable only by the originally named passenger(s). They are valid for airfare and any associated taxes or fees. Vouchers are what you receive generally as a customer-service accommodation. They are usually valid for 6 months or 1 year from date of issue (check your voucher to be sure), and can be used by anyone. They are valid for airfare only, not any taxes or fees. *Currently, due to the pandemic, travel funds created before September 7, 2020 are being extended through September 7, 2022.

I know who you’re talking about. I was traveling through BWI in May of ‘18 and my flight home was cancelled. My first time ever catching a cancellation so I was rather upset and frazzled. She helped me out and got me on an earlier flight back home to DAL. Evidently she’s been there a while and is a great, valuable asset to the company.

Hello @Dashgupta. Employees on The Community have the EMPLOYEE indicator by the Southwest logo and their usernames. Top Contributors are the most active Customers on the forum. They are also frequent flyers, so they are both subject matter experts on policies and the airline industry as a whole. For more information on our Community Champions, click here.

Hi Blake, Thank you so much for your response. I was told by the corporate office that my Luv Voucher does not fall within the Covid19 travel fund policy. So if I were to book a flight and cancel it, the funds would still retain the 5/3/20 expiration date which is tomorrow. If you know of anyone who wants to fly today or tomorrow please let me know, lol, and it's theirs! Thank you again for taking he time to reply to my post! MC2020

When you say your statement closed on the 9th and you have not received your points, has your statement actually posted to your account (which usually happens a few days after the closing date)? If your April statement is available to see, then look for the points that were included in the statement.

I bet you are trying to pick a date later than June 16. The airline only lets you change to another date 60 days or less in the future. So what can you do? Well it's the Texas two step. Change to another date in May. Then change again to the date in June that you really want to fly.

To add, while you can use/play with the funds however you'd like, they usually expire after ONE YEAR. SWA has extended that for everyone until June 30, 2021. Learn more: https://www.southwestaircommunity.com/t5/Blog/Additional-Schedule-Modifications-through-April-14-2020/ba-p/104046

To add, you can now track your travel funds in your profile. Starting December 3, 2019, if you include your Rapid Rewards number in your flight reservation, you will be able to view available travel funds from unused tickets, tickets cancelled in accordance with the No Show Policy, or tickets which have a residual balance. All travel involving funds from any confirmation number must be completed by the expiration date. To locate available travel funds generated prior to December 3, 2019 or get additional details on available travel funds listed here use the Travel Fund Lookup.

I don't know if this is related, but I've been having log in issues as well. I can log in successfully, for example on Southwest.com, but when I go to another page of the site (i.e. "My Account") I have to log in again. And if I go to "Recent Activity" - I have to log in again. So on and so forth. Sometimes I am able to navigate successfully, but as of late I've had to constantly re-log in. --Jessica
