Even if this was an option I would not recommend it. SW WiFi is not consistent and it is not uncommon for it to not be working on your flight.

This is a forum for SW customers, it is not their customer service site. If you wish to get a response to an inquiry from SW you'll need to contract their customer service.

With the increased flexibility that SW started providing over the last year, that is same day changes and stand by, there are many people who are changing flights the day of the flight. I believe in order to do a same day change or standby the person has to check in first, thus consuming the boarding positions. The boarding positions open up once people confirm their same day change or stand by. So the flight could have been full at the time of your check in but then people switched around. I personally love the flexibility, but understand the confusion over the seating positions.

I believe they don't allow you to add a companion now because you would be able to book a companion on a flight anytime, not just during the promotion period. I don't think their systems are sophisticated enough to only let you add during that short window. If you are worried about the flight filling up, use points to book a flight now for your companion then cancel that flight once you add them as a companion to your reservation. (Or if flight is full, cancel first then add) If you don't have points, you can book a fully refundable ticket now for the companion and refund it once you are able to add the companion to your reservation. This of course does require you to float the cost until you are able to add the companion.

I would not agree the forum is for complaining, it is more for seeking help on possible ways to solve issues, gain information etc. If you are just looking for a place to complain no one here can help you come to a satisfactory resolution and you should probably seek assistance from customer service. I think you have been provided some information that should make your trip smoother in the future. You may also want to take the information you have learned here and apply it to other airlines that you may fly. It looks like Hawaiian may be one of your only options to fly a dog to Hawaii, most other airlines do not allow it.

I don't think it is normal for them to make that announcement, especially for any children regardless of age; however I also think they are lenient as to who gets in line.

Lucky you...seeing the Indy 500 in person. I'm a race fan and that race is on my bucket list.
But to address your complaint:
You weren't charged a change fee. And, as your napkin indicated, SWA does not charge change fees.
However, you were charged for the difference in the cost of the new flight. For example, if your original Sunday flight was $200 and the new Monday flight was $488, you were charged the difference in flight cost...or $288. Because it was a last-minute "purchase" or change, the flight was more expensive.
All airlines will charge the difference in flight costs if you make a change. All of them. I'm sorry you misunderstood the benefit in its entirety.
Here is a link to SWA's Same-Day Change and Same-Day Standby explanation:

I get two free A1-15 upgrades per year. Would be nice to utilize it since it's free. If I utilized it on my ticket, does that mean my 7 year old, 6 year old, and 3 year old would have to board by themselves at the spot designated on their ticket? Would an employee help them figure out where they should board since they won't understand the process?

When you're looking to redeem Rapid Rewards points for your children's flights on Southwest, you can usually book all flights under a single reservation to keep everyone together. This keeps things simple and stress-free, ensuring you all board together and sit close. It’s like keeping the harmony in a song, man. For different accounts or booking methods, though, you might need separate reservations, but they can often be linked to manage boarding sequences. Safe travels on your cosmic journey through the skies!

Thanks all. I’ve had Preferred since earning it last year, and it’s worked on previous journeys this year. I’m guessing it’s the issue that the reservation appears to have been unlinked from my profile when they fixed my TSA PreCheck problem — it doesn’t seem to be listed in the app or on the website for my RR account.
I ended up paying for the access, will ask for a refund.

Remember that the plane begins boarding 30 minutes before takeoff, so 50 minutes gives you 20 minutes to get to the second plane before it begins boarding.
I've had to go A-11 to B-13, one end of the airport to another, in BWI and it takes 15 minutes.

Hello, Excited by a Southwest Airlines fare sale notification, I promptly visited the site and entered my travel dates. Since I will be using my RW miles, I need to stay witin a certain amount. In selecting the best time to fly calendar I was elated to see a great possibility for us, even gave me the amount which fit into my points. Next I was instructed to select flights and all of a sudden prices where considerably higher than the first page. Is this standard operating procedure? This appears to be bait-and-switch; none of the flight combinations matched the initial page's prices, even with the cheapest selection.
Greetings from your fellow traveler:
I assume you're referring to this infamous message:
It took me a long time, but I think I finally figured out why I was seeing this for many of my bookings whenever I shopped via the Low Fare Calendar but I'm not sure if this is the same cause for your needs.
Being from SoCal, SW has multiple short-haul non-stop flights up and down the state regularly with routes running every 60-90 minutes at times which allows for commuter travel (i.e.: travel in the morning, take care of business, return in the afternoon).
It took me a while to figure out why I was running into this message frequently during sales, but for me, it was mostly due to most of my trips involving a same-day return trip home which would conflict with the flights that posted the lowest fare.
The message would pop whenever the flight options with the lowest posted fares for the day would not be possible under a same day round-trip itinerary as they would conflict (e.g. If I do the day roundtrip on a Friday and the lowest-priced outbound trip was priced for an evening flight). That would trip the message.
I do agree the message is misleading and should be changed to something like:
"Oops, it looks like one or more flight times with lowest fare is not possible under this Same Day Return Itinerary - But don't give up! You can still..."
What route/dates/fare are you trying to book and I'll see if I can reproduce this?

I have conclusive evidence that I renewed my status in late 2022, and my KTN did NOT change upon renewal.
Greetings All: For the record and to clarify, I most likely had a misunderstanding and have posted a misstatement and advised the OP that KTN's change upon Global Entry renewal. Actually, numerous source reference docs indicate that if one has TSA PreCheck and then later enrolls in Global Entry, a new KTN number is assigned for Global Entry. US Passport numbers also change upon renewal, but there were no docs supporting my initial statement of Global Entry renewals changing the KTN and I likely had a misunderstanding of that policy when I signed up for the program. Also for TSA PreCheck renewals, TSA advises that the KTN does not change.
Hope this makes better sense.

Create a RR account for your daughter. Then for future ticket purchases that are paid with $$, purchase WGA+. Its only like $15-$20 more. If your daughter has to cancel, the travel credit can be transferred to you.
