With every ban comes a work around. You can get a Psychiatric Service Dog document as easy as you could get a ESA paper. https://www.emotionalpetsupport.com/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIuKLVlLii8gIVsyCtBh3FfgsTEAAYASAAEgLP7fD_BwE

@jrhartwick Someone has to be the last EarlyBird purchaser before general boarding begins. So there were 8 people between you at EBCI and someone who checked in 24 hours prior, I don't see what the issue is. The closer to departure date that you purchase EBCI the less value it has in terms of better boarding position. It still saves you the worry of having to check in exactly 24 hours prior. --TheMiddleSeat

Right now, a rt on SW from Tampa to Las Vegas for us would be $1100 each! That's not even traveling on the peak days. Madness! Flight prices are definitely up now, glad I booked my flights in early June when they were having that 50% off sale! Saved so much $$$! --Jessica

Oh man, story of my life right here! PHL is my home base. We've had a lot of nonstops eliminated on various routes, it's true. I was afraid for awhile that Southwest might leave Philadelphia altogether like they did in Newark, NJ. Thankfully that hasn't happened yet! But, I think as a whole longer nonstop flights are being broken up across the country. I assume shorter flights = more flights per day = more revenue for the airline. --Jessica

The problem is not endemic to Chrome. See the suggestions earlier in the thread to make sure that your Chrome browser is not set up in portrait mode, and to try reloading Chrome.

Southwest just made a bunch of schedule changes for the fall, and it's likely your trip was affected - but you should have been e-mailed about a change. When I looked up a reservation online, 1/2 my itinerary was gone, but the e-mail stating the change was correct. I contacted Southwest via DM on Twitter and they corrected it in less than 90 minutes after I messaged them. --Jessica

I flew from Orlando to Aruba nonstop and it made sense. From Orlando, it's already a 3 hour flight so coming from Baltimore it's even a longer flight and more challenging for people to get to. Hopefully MCO, ATL, FLL and MIA can pick up a route to Aruba. It's sooo worth it!

Pretty much every human on earth with their own computer / smart phone / etc. uses some form of social media, and who doesn't use Google or Gmail? I've tried many times to "quit" Facebook, but I've given up because it's so engrained into our lives, it's impossible to stop using. So I did the next best thing and set an app limit so I'm only on it for 30 minutes a day. I also block my FB news feed on Chrome by using an extension. It helps so I'm not wasting so much time on it mindlessly scrolling. That's the best I can do. --Jessica

Jealous! I wonder how prizes went "unclaimed" - you didn't have to claim points prizes, so it's a little confusing how they are giving more points away now. Maybe the prices given away specifically on June 18, like the large point prizes, had to be claimed? That would be a shame if the bigger prizes were never claimed by anyone! --Jessica

No problem at all. All of the SW gates at LAX are literally within 1-2 minutes of each other. You could probably do more than just grab a sandwich (as another poster mentioned up above). You could probably grab a sit down meal and go to the bathroom and browse for some reading material before having to board.

You need to preboard with medical boarding. Often those first seats are given to wheelchair passengers and if not, the first person on the plane (or continuing passengers already on the plane) will take them.

I'm a big fan of Southwest, but when I run in to this situation, I fly the other guy. That being said, all airlines price tickets for what they think they will sell for. So, that's what is going on. If ticket sales turn out to be slower than expected, Southwest has been know to drop prices. You could watch to see what happens.

I know what you’re saying here, but SWA recently changed a few upcoming autumn flights of mine due to…who knows. The times were anywhere from 30 minutes to a few hours’ difference, usually at the expense of my vacation time, but OK, whatever. But then I noticed, weeks after the changes, that in some cases, the flights went from non-stop to having a connector, or a longer layover, or from having one connection to two (for instance, they now had me going DAL-DEN-MDW-PHL instead of DAL-MDW-PHL…lol, get out!). None of that was expressed in the initial changes email. When there are options to get from A to B, that matters—layovers matter, time in the air matters, number of connections matter.

I’ve been flying Southwest 2-3x a week for several years now—I’ve been meaning to finally join this messageboard I’ve lurked for so long, so thanks, as it’s a good question. When I first took a field job, I primarily chose Southwest because of the frequency of service to my two prime stops, Albuquerque and New Orleans (but I handle Portland OR to San Juan PR, and can/do use SWA to get to all those locales). In the intervening years, the reasons have changed: 1. The Companion Pass, one of the better if not best reward of all the domestic airlines—my wife flies for free with me and we use the heck out of it with no restrictions. 2. The customer service. On the phone and at the gate and on the plane and on social media, I’ve always had good, usually very good, responsive experiences with staff. 3. Open seating. As I most often book less than a week before flying, I love that I’m not stuck picking the best of a bunch of middle seats. Now, those are my main reasons, they might not work for others, just as others’ reasons reasons might not be best for me (like, I very very rarely check a bag, but I like knowing I can for free if I choose). And I’m not saying they are perfect, not hardly. They had a pretty rough early summer, as poor COVID business decisions SWA made and outside tech issues and the severe weather created a perfect storm of problems that pax had to suffer through (and I did). I’ve done my share of complaining to Southwest staff for sure. But for the vast majority of the time, before and since, they get me there on time (or early) and most importantly, safely (their top track record on that is important to me, too). I’m a happy customer, which is more than I can say for, say, my rental car companies. Now, if you don’t like them, fine, whatever, but no one here can do anything about it (or even care, to be frank)—it’s a messageboard for pax to share info and opinions amongst themselves. Good luck/Godspeed.

@strgth wrote: @jksobonya wrote: Check your e-mail - when Southwest changes a flight you are notified via e-mail and if you are not happy with the change you can modify it yourself to *any other flight* **for free**. You can also log into Southwest.com or the app, view your flight, and you should see a notification that "Your flight has been modified" with instructions on how to change it. You have to make a change within 72 hours of being notified. --Jessica @jksobonyatime limit for modifying seems to vary. In the email I received from SW for a flight change it stated "If your new itinerary won't work, you can change your flight date and/or time by up to 14 days from your original travel date at no additional cost." This is referring to the timeframe for the scheduled departure of the new flight, not the time in which you have to make the change. Generally, you have ~3 days from email notification in which to make the change yourself online (although lately that seems to be variable, up to one week). After that, you can still receive a free change, but it will require calling in.

It's sad to hear your experience. I too have had some service challenges flying SWA in the last several months. They have all been reasonably resolved. It seems clear you've given up on SWA, "blowing up the board" on a customer to customer forum is pointless and waste of your energy. Best of luck to you in the future and I wish you safe travels

I tried replying last night but it did it go through so hopefully I remember all the detail I wrote then. Here goes.... i feel like my situation was really similar to yours. I called after my luv voucher expired and asked for an extension. The person I spoke with said it would be Re-issued in 30 days and I would get an email. I waited more than 30 days and then called when I didn’t have an email by then. When I called the person didn’t know why it hadn’t been issued so gave me that same 855 number with option 5 to dial. This is where things start to get fuzzy for me. I don’t think I actually got through to somebody there so I just called back the southwest customer service number again and said I didn’t get through to anyone when I called the number they gave me and she said to use the contact us feature on the website. She have me the case number and told me to referenced it and explain everything, including the luv voucher numbers and my contact info. So I did just that. I got an email about 2 days later Saying that my request had been sent on to customer relations and it may take up to 30 days to get a response. Well based on my previous experience I called back a week later auto follow up on the message I had sent through the contact us form on the site and have them the new case number. Oh by the way when I called back I was waiting for over two hours before I got to speak with someone. The person I spoke to said that my vouchers were being re-issued and that I would get an email with them within 30 days. She sent me a confirmation email with claim numbers for the vouchers. Last night (2 weeks from when I spoke to the rep who re-issued them) I got my first re-issued luv voucher. I am hoping I will get the others with out any issue, in the next 2 weeks. Typically Southwest is great which is why I fly them, But this has been quite an ordeal. Hopefully the rest come through without me having to call them again. Based on my experience I would suggest sending them a message through the contact us feature on the website. Maybe call before doing that so that you have your case number to reference in the message you send. good luck.

Delayed hours at Pittsburgh because their communications went down. Was about to just rent a car because I have an actual schedule to keep. 0/10 would not recommend SW. They should've auto-issued a refund for the last flight I took. But they actually felt secure taking my money. I feel insecure spending it with them ever since It is as I suspected. You flew when SWA had all the issues a month ago and were caught in the middle of it. Many were. It sucks. Southwest has been trying to make it right, even with giving refunds (which, FWIW, you are entitled to anyway when Southwest cancels your flight - but you are not entitled to a refund if they reroute you and you actually take the flights you are assigned). --Jessica

I have an even better one. Beware of Southwest changing your itinerary months in advance (ok cool... I understand that).... and re-booking your companion's (as in Companion Pass holder) return flight on a totally different flight. And as you're leaving Cancun, the desk agent says that your companion's return flight left hours earlier!! Yes my wife was booked as my companion the whole time and in their schedule change, they put her on a completely different return flight. It never occurred to me to watch out for something like that since she's my document companion. Luckily, the agent was able to re-book her on the 3:40pm flight I was on.
